Winfield Thomas Elizabeth Soundcheck

All the track's were done with a Winfield model amp using four EL84's plugged into a 1960A 4x12" speaker cab loaded with 75 watt Celestions. I put an SM57 in front of one of the speakers about 3" back and that went straight into an MBox/ProTools-LE setup run by a Mac. No compression or fancy pre's etc. The amp was on half power with the treble, mids, and presence up around 7, and the bass down at 3 or so, and the volume controls set around 4-5. No overdrive boxes. I didn't really change any settings as I played. The amp has more sounds in it and though I have a bunch of guitars I didn't want to get too crazy with every guitar/pup combo. -- Kenny Hohman, Super400

Track 1 (431k) - This is my custom Buttercaster Tele, using a Rio Grande Muy Grande Tele bridge pup.

Track 2 (500k) - This is a reissue '57 Goldtop LP with WCR "Fillmore" pups, using the bridge pup and a slide.

Track 3 (254k) and Track 4 (179k) - The Buttercaster Tele again, using the neck pup (cleaner sound as the volume is rolled back).

"It Takes A Long Time" From Rick Snell - I've attached a track I recorded yesterday using the Brat so you can hear your work in action!!! Everything you hear is the Brat with the exception of the guitar solo (added by another guy in the band after i had to leave), but I'm sure that will be obvious to your ears. The lead stuff under the bridge is the Brat again. I doubled everything ... once on my PRS custom 24 with the coils tapped and once on a 60s SG with one P90.
Song: "It Takes A Long Time"
Band: The 45's
