The Brat

The Brat is the evolution of several amps I have built/modified over the years and answers the call of many (vintage) guitar players who want a light-weight unit. The combo, with a 10" Weber 10F125-30 weighs just 22 pounds.

It is a Tweedy type unit but with EL84s for a Voxy feel. The amp has a Solid State rectifier and two EL84s in the output section. It has the full range of controls, Volume, Treble, Middle and Bass. It is 16 watts but is much louder than you'd expect.

The Brat is cathode biased, changing tubes does not require rebiasing.

Chassis only: $500
Head: $700
Combo: $800 (plus the price of the speaker)

New options: Tube rectifier and 6V6 tubes.

If you would like to customize your Brat, here are some things to consider:

Add a tube rectifier (5AR4): $30 upgrade
Add Octal sockets to use 6V6 or 6L6 tubes: $40 upgrade

Prices include the tubes.
